Memories

What happened in Germany?
Not just the Jewish
That simple
They took away

You’ve gone crazy
It’ll blow over
You’ve gone crazy
What do you take?

Mass shootings, mass graves
He was shot
With her 7 year old boy
The children were screaming

Hidden in the cellar
Nobody answers
That simple

The sadism,
The cruelty,
The Irrationality,
People want to forget

This will cost you
The Torah
Memories of Anja,
So life goes

Just the emotion,
Why did god spare?
Liberation,
Wasn’t the last day

I chose the theme of remembering, from looking back at this horrible experience from the people who went through it. Even though they are physically free from the Nazi’s rein, they will be haunted by what they went through for the rest of their lives. They must look back and recall the terrors they faced at concentration camps as they watched their families, friends, and innocent people die for no reason other then hate. At the same time they would be wasting away, always fretting that it would be their turn next. Looking back people also wonder why this had to happen? What had they ever done? And most importantly why did they deserve to live while millions died?
